Special type of woodcarving known as Lak-Tarashi decorates Iranian houses in Mazandaran Province.
The centuries-old artwork made by skilled Iranian artisans is one of the most pivotal arts in the northern province of Mazandaran.
The woodenware shaped through Lak-Tarashi includes kitchen utensils, cupboards and chests, among others.
Since plastic and metal kitchenware is a staple in many Iranian houses these days, the endangered art needs to be safeguarded with just a few people having the know-how of this ancient art.
